It is the second largest diamond ever recovered till date from Lulo, as previously a 131.4 carat Type 2A rock was discovered from there in the year 2012. The company describes the gem as “exceptional” with an irregular, roughly equant shape and it measures 25mm by 20mm by 16mm. It was assessed using a Yehuda ZVI colorimeter as a Type 2A, which lie among the world’s rarest category of diamonds. The company has informed that the appearance and clarity of the stone is yet to be determined, as it has not been cleaned yet, but they expect it to improve dramatically after it is cleaned and the iron staining has been removed. At present, the color is classified as D/E, which would by and large make the diamond an “Exceptional White.” Nevertheless, the colorimeter also depicts the stone as brown, but the clear picture on the stone’s classification would only be clear once the diamond is cleaned and retested.
